History
Niyel was founded in 2008 by social justice advocate and policy expert Valerie G. Traore, who saw the need to boost African influence in the strategy and development space and combat the lack of agency noticed in equity initiatives on the continent and around the world. As one of the only African firms to pilot sustainable change and development, Niyel’s innovation bridges the gap between advocacy and contextual implementation. Our mission is to promote equality and trust throughout communities while amplifying the voices of everyday people. In the past 14 years, we’ve partnered with NGOs, social movements, foundations, and everything in between on over 120+ projects to date. Today, Niyel stands as a competitive global firm on its way to leading change in the progressive development and advocacy sector.
