Free Movement of Persons and Migration- Human Trafficking
Concept:
This advocacy initiative directly supported state mandated institutions in five countries to develop multi stakeholder mobilization strategies in support of ending trafficking. The aim was to influence various government officials and their partners, civil society organizations, and inter-professional organizations to work together to eliminate trafficking. . Activities included advocacy workshops, stakeholder engagement, and the development of national action plans and budgets.
Who:
5 ECOWAS countries (Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Senegal) and Mauritania
The Task:
Niyel partnered with the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) on a regional advocacy campaign around the fight against human trafficking for forced labor outside the West African region.
Outcomes:
- State structures and their partners, civil society organizations, and inter-professional organizations have an advocacy action plan that donors can finance.
- Partners have knowledge, and simple and practical tools to carry out anti-human trafficking advocacy in the framework of their organizations and respective regions.
