Non-Sewered Sanitation and Fecal Sludge Management (FSM)

Non-Sewered Sanitation and Fecal Sludge Management (FSM)

Outline

Addressing sanitation and fecal sludge management issues while simultaneously structuring the sanitation market goes a long way in preventing adverse health, economic, and environmental effects for citizens living in areas with these challenges. Niyel, in partnership with Speak Up Africa and IPAR, works to strengthen the engagement of decision makers in prioritizing sanitation issues, and implementing policies to increase access to and use of non-sewered sanitation in West Africa. This is done by building and sustaining political leadership for policies that safely drive and manage sanitation in target regions. To achieve this, civil society, youth and community engagement, decision-maker engagement, and media campaigns were successfully employed.
